Nettie Cobb delights in her recent procurement of a carnival glass lampshade from the shop. She reflects on this self-perceived redemption from traumatic history. She believes the killing of her abusive husband and her time at Juniper Hill Mental Institution are now behind her.
Sheriff Alan Pangborn and Polly Chalmers struggle with painful secrets from their pasts, each fearing that the burdens they carry could threaten the life they are building together. As Leland Gaunt’s sinister influence tightens its grip on Castle Rock, their relationship is tested by mistrust, guilt, and forces they do not yet fully understand.
